A Fusion Sushi Feast
If you’re up for a steamy love affair with fusion sushi, then Tsukiji Sushi is the one you’ve been looking for. It’s hiding out in some random West London neighborhood, but don’t let that fool you. Tsukiji adds a fun twist to your usual Japanese grub.
Ambiance:
Did it have a past life as a bar or something? The restaurant’s interior requires some changes. It doesn’t quite capture the Japanese ambiance, and the design, especially downstairs, isn’t very comfortable.
Service:
The service at Tsukiji Sushi Fusion was overall good, from booking to payment. The sushi chef, Luan, hails from Brazil, where he learnt the art of sushi making in his home country.
Price: £
Honestly, I’m still trying to figure out how they pull off this culinary magic act – a parade of appetizers and a whopping 40 sushi rolls, all for the low, low price of £27.5!
What I Ordered:
All you can eat Sushi
Including Miso soup, Edamame, Tempura, Gyoza, Takoyaki, and 40 sushi rolls with Sashimi!
Before diving headlong into the sushi, I sampled some of Tsukiji’s tantalizing appetizers. My personal favorite was the Takoyaki, crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The rest were a bit oily, and the outer layer was too thick, but no complaints here with this price, it was all in good taste.
As for the sushi rolls… Usually, with all-you-can-eat, the quality isn’t great. Sushi places tend to give you less fish and load up on rice to fill you up, but not at Tsukiji! They don’t hold back. These rolls were like the heavyweight champions of sushi, big and fresh!
Each roll had its own flavor profile that was like a diverse cast of characters in a Marvel. Avocado, eel, and a rainbow of fish slices were like the Avengers of the sushi world, teaming up with a drizzle of sauces that included mayo, Korean-style spiciness, and even cream cheese. It was sushi seduction!
Conclusion:
Tsukiji Sushi Fusion in Fulham is where fusion sushi truly comes into its own, a place where Japanese culinary traditions warmly welcome innovation. While I understand that some purists may prefer the traditional approach, I, personally, have a soft spot for fusion styles, especially when it comes to sushi with a South American twist.
If you are looking for a reasonable dining option with your friends, Tsukiji Sushi Fusion unquestionably deserves a spot on your list of must-visit establishments in London.
If you could finish all the 40 sushi and ordered additionally, message me. I am curious to know who you are.
Tips from Hanako:
- You can order ‘All You Can Eat’ for a minimum of two people, and it doesn’t need to be an even number of booking
- Their first location in Tooting has better vibes but can be noisy
- You can take home any leftover food
- You can pay separately, but the bill must be split equally; specific itemized splitting is not available
