You Gotta Try This
I popped into Salt the Radish the other day while I was on the lookout for a decent Sunday lunch spot around Finsbury Park. The reason I was in that neck of the woods is a bit hush-hush, so don’t go prying.
Let me tell you, it’s the sort of joint that makes you feel like you’ve just stumbled upon this hidden foodie oasis smack in the middle of North London.
Proper love the fact that they’re a small, female-owned and led food biz right here in London! Big ups to you lot – got my support, girls!
Ambience:
It has got that cool, laid-back vibe, with wooden bits and bobs and some cool paintings on the walls. Perfect spot to chill with your friends or take your date for a low-key weekend brunch.
Service:
The ladies were cool, but not exactly on it. Had to grab the menu myself because no one swung by the table. But when I asked for a recommendation, the lady broke it down for me, using Instagram to show which dish is which.
Drinks:
They have got a proper coffee menu, and not just that – teas and soft drinks, too. Their OJ was exactly what I needed on a lazy Sunday, mate.
Price: £
Proper decent, that!
What I Ordered:
Salad Plate
I’m all about a banging salad, but it’s gotta be top-notch. And let me tell you, this salad was on another level. The roasted pumpkin deserves a standing ovation. Each golden bite nailed that perfect balance between the slightly caramelized outside and the melt-in-your-mouth inside.
Then, they hit it with a sprinkle of spice and a mastered sauce that ties the whole dish together, taking it from a basic salad to a flavor-packed masterpiece. The Middle-Eastern spice they’ve thrown in is spot-on – not too much, just enough to let each ingredient shine while giving a warm kick that sticks around on the taste buds. Proper good stuff.
Chorizo Brunch
From the kicking chorizo bringing the heat to the creamy tahini yoghurt and the smoky tomato sauce, every bit played its part in crafting a brunch masterpiece.
Sourdough toast – that crunch perfection, paired with the aromatic dukkah, a mix of nuts and spices that added a whole new level of complexity, taking the whole brunch experience up a notch.
If you’re a brunch fanatic or just fancy making your mid-morning grub a bit fancier, you have to get on the Chorizo Brunch train. It’s like a symphony of flavors that’ll leave you wanting an encore, trust.
Conclusion:
Salt the Radish is the real deal, especially if you’re after a laid-back, tasty brunch experience in North East London. Whether you’re a local looking for a regular haunt or just passing through, this spot deserves a shout.
I left feeling satisfied, a bit fancy with my mouth, and totally stoked about the food scene in this area. Salt the Radish – you’ve earned a spot on my go-to list!
