A Culinary Wonderland for Adventurous Foodies
Get ready to be amazed by the unique culinary creations at Fudizm, located inside a members club in East London. Although I personally wouldn’t be keen on becoming a member due to their distinctive decor featuring stuffed animals and sleek red velvet accents…
This was actually my second time trying his food, but my first experience was not the greatest, or in fact, it started off on the wrong foot. It happened at a dirty and noisy pub in Holborn that also serves his food. However, the moment I took my first bite, all the negative aspects faded away from my mind.
Chef Jonathan is a true magician. Each one was presented with a unique flair and bursted with flavor. It’s like the chef took recipes from all the countries from Asia to Western continent cuisines, turned them upside down, and sprinkled them with a dash of innovation. You won’t find these flavor combinations anywhere else.
What I ordered:
Tiger Prawn ‘Nduja Momo
It had a bold flavor. The spicy richness of the ‘nduja salami paired perfectly with the fresh grilled vegetable. The tiger prawn shumai were expertly steamed, resulting in a juicy and succulent texture.
Trout Pastrami Panipuri, yuzu & Limoncello mascarpone, vodka, lemongrass & mango shot
I mean I dont’ know how he created one dish with all of these ingredients, look at this menue title, the creativity was truly impressive…
The pairing of trout pastrami and panipuri was brilliant. The smoky and slightly salty flavors of the pastrami worked perfectly with the fresh panipuri. The addition of yuzu and Limoncello mascarpone gave a tangy and citrusy twist, adding a creamy and refreshing contrast to the rich pastrami. And then The vodka, lemongrass, and mango shot acted as a palate cleanser. It was a heavenly combination.
*Fresh Caesar Salad
I always believe that a true chef can take a simple dish and elevate it to another level.
The romaine lettuce leaves had a satisfying crunch that showcased the salad’s quality. The asparagus and egg were perfectly cooked. The Caesar dressing was creamy and tangy. It was truly the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had.
Mochi ball
One of the best things about Mochi Balls was their unique and chewy texture. I enjoyed the tender exterior and the softness inside. The crispy top added a perfect balance, and the paprika underneath gave it an extra touch that I really liked.
8-hour Braised Oxtail Manti with Beef Marrow Brulee
Manti, the Turkish dumplings, had a perfect balance of thin, silky dough and a flavorful filling. But what truly made this dish stand out was the beef marrow brûlée. The marrow created a rich, creamy texture that melted in your mouth, and I couldn’t resist digging into the bone…
Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Parfait
This dessert was a bit too sweet for me, but I believe this is just my preference, since I am not a huge fan of Peanut Batter.
Conclusion:
Fudizm is a must-visit for any foodie looking for something out of the ordinary. Or I would even say don’t visit unless you are a real foodie. Fudizm – it’s an adventure you won’t want to miss!
